New page on my (currently still private!) blog

I recently bought a new laptop for my forthcoming German adventure (a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 11.6 inches, if you’re interested) and, in attempting to move the numerous bookmarks from Google Chrome on my work laptop to my new laptop, I realised quite how many useful links I had saved in reference to aforementioned adventure.

I therefore decided to create a new page, which I have cringeworthily (is that a word?) entitled ‘Berl/Info‘ – for all kinds of information about Berlin: important things like bars, restaurants and culture, but also humdrum things like getting your residence permit and learning how to officially freelance. (Ok, so the latter is arguably more important than the former, but we all know which sounds more enticing to my potential three or four blog readers!)

I have made this page in the hope that it might one day help another confused person like me, about to embark on a ‘gap life’ project and keen to be as organised in advance as possible!

About BerLingo

My name is Rachel, I am 25 and I love Germany. I studied German, Spanish and Italian at Durham University for four years, one of which I spent living in Europe, and then worked at Routledge academic publishing house for almost 3 years. Towards the end of 2014, I decided it was time to finally fulfil a long-held ambition to live in Berlin, and so in April 2015 I completed the CELTA qualification (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, adminstered by Cambridge University) here in the German capital. Now qualified, my blog charts my experiences as a new English teacher in my favourite city... (More information about my plans can be found in my first ever blog post.)
